The mission of the “Hot & Tasty Disabled Cookbook” is simple: Help those with disabilities and their caretakers learn to make simple, healthy, restaurant-quality food without paying restaurant prices.
.The inspiration for The Hot & Tasty Cookbook came from disabled advocate and author Lisa Cesal. She is a huge “foodie” who loves fine dining and gourmet food, but like many with disabilities, she lacked the budget to enjoy high-end dining beyond special occasions.
Another fact about cooking at home vs. eating out and/or getting drive-through or carryout: It is far more affordable to prepare food at home, even compared to the prices of fast food chains.
More, with the Covid-related closures and lockdowns of 2020 – 2021, dining out was not even an option. So what to do? Lisa enlisted the help of The Rock & Roll Chef to produce this unique cookbook, with a twist: His background with live and filmed content brings lively, fun and dynamic elements of entertainment to the project.
With the advent of smartphones, tablets and desktop computers, integrating video into a cookbook expands its appeal and helps communicate the content faster vs. printed content.
Another relevant topic in the age of Covid: Paying more attention to diet, nutrition and immunity. With the philosophy that “prevention is the best cure,” this directly addresses some of the most common causes of deaths attributable to Covid: Pre-existing conditions including especially diabetes and obesity.
Finally, it is our hope that The Hot & Tasty Disabled Cookbook reaches a far wider audience beyond those with disabilities; Entertaining and educational quality content is universally engaging for everyone, disabled or not.
